Every writer has a calling to write. However, we can write, and write. Then all of a sudden something happens. There is like this period that you just can't do any more. You wonder what you can do to make the juices flow, but there is nothing there. You might try and force yourself to write, however you can't do that. You have to do something else. So, what have we found works?

You might try avoiding writers block. There are some who write all day and all night. We understand deadlines, but the more you work on something, the more chances you have of getting writers block. It's like your mind telling you to stop. So, do try to take a break.

Taking a break is good even after you get this diagnosis. You just walk away and that is that. Nothing more needs to be done. When you sit there and stare, all you tend to do is get all the more frustrated because things aren't coming to you. However, that's not what you need.

You need to reduce your stress level. Stress is something that makes us shut down. This can be very hard. So, taking a break can reduce your stress level. During this break, you should do something that you like doing. When you sit there and do things that you don't like doing, then you aren't getting any relaxation.

Getting enough sleep helps too. Sometimes when we are just tired, we might find that we can't focus like we would like to. Therefore, you might benefit from a nap. This has always worked for us when we felt that pressure coming on. Sleep can do a world of good to anyone as many of us don't get enough sleep.

Sometimes, the piece of writing work that we are doing at the moment has come to its end for a moment. If you are a writer, you might be working on a few things. Therefore, try changing it up and work on something else that might capture your attention. This has been fun to be beneficial as well.

Another thing you can do is ask people for their help. You might be tapped out of ideas, but someone could read where you left off and give you ideas. The power of other people is rather amazing. Take our word for it. We've had to do that from time to time. Not every time will this work though, but hey, it's worth a shot.

Sometimes, you might have to do something else. You might have to put it on hold. There are times when writers block could take days. Other times, you could take a five minute break and all is well. You just never know what could come of it. Yet, here are some things to try. Maybe they will work for you. Maybe they won't. One might never know. However, do give them a try. What else have you got to lose? Probably not much is our guess.
