Overview of Pakistan

Pakistan is a very beautiful country full of natural resources. It has beautiful valleys, historical places and ancient cities like Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Karachi, and Faisalabad etc. In north of Pakistan you will encounter amazing views of Himalayas, Hindu-Kush and Karakoram and in South you will find the dry desert regions of Sindh and Baluchistan; this diversity from the Kashghar village to Karachi makes Pakistan magnetic region in South Asia for tour lovers.

If you haven't visited Pakistan yet then you have to plan for it because your trip to Pakistan will fascinate you in many different ways likewise, it will introduce its current monuments and archeological heritage to you. Pakistan is blessed with lots of natural scenic gifts and it holds a rich cultural and historical background. Some historical, famous and most visited places in Pakistan are Taxila, Mohenjodaro, Traces of Mughal Emperors, The historical Khyber Pass, and the beautiful and ancient as well as ageless old traditions of the Kafiristan (bombureet) Kalash Valley in Chitral District. The most exciting thing to visit Chitral valley in July is an event of Royal Game (Polo Match on the peak of Shandour Polo Ground). The Forts and beautiful lakes in Gilgit and Sikardu give the tourists an opportunity to climb on the snow-covered mountain ranges of Karakoram.

Marakan Coastline

The Great Alexander crossed Marakan Coastline in 325 B.C. during Greek War. This coastline is one of the most popular and visited natural sites of Pakistan.

Silk Route (Islamabad to China)

Silk route is the wonderful addition to the beauty of Pakistan; it passes through beautiful valleys of Gilgit, Hunza and Kashghar to China. Tourists love this route and most of them pass this by cycling.

K-2 Mountain

Another great thing to visit Pakistan is an opportunity to see the world's second largest mountain which is located in the north of Pakistan. The government and local as well as international bodies arrange sports from time to time in this location which attracts several tourists from around the world. Thus you must visit to experience the wonderful events but make sure you confirm the date and time of the events from the local government websites and other tour operator agencies because due to heavy snow fall the dates and time may change.

Glaciers of Pakistan

The Northern part of the country is rich in huge glaciers, including Siachen, Hispar and many others. These are the greatest attractions for the tourists from all over the world.

Mohenjo-Daro & Harappa

These two cities are one of the great discoveries in Pakistan situated alongside Indus River and the distance between these two cities is 400 miles. It is the Indus valley's 4000 years old civilization glimpse on the earth.

Taxila

Taxila is one of the ancient Buddhist heritages of the world and it is located in the province of Punjab. Total distance is 35 km from Islamabad - Capital of Pakistan. The Sculpture of Gandhara is a big attraction for the local as well as foreign tourists

Minar-e-Pakistan

It is the historic symbol of Pakistan and is also known as the Iqbal Park. Its height is 60 meter and was built in the remembrance of the great resolution of 1940. Minar-e-Pakistan is one of the most visited and popular places of Pakistan.

Moreover, there are a lot of places near the capital to visit where you can enjoy the cool weather in summers. You can visit Murree, Ayoubia, Muzafarabad, and many other beautiful places in the surroundings of the capital.

Pakistan is also very rich in fauna and flora and you can find markhor, blue bull, snow leopard, gharial, green turtle, cheer, wild olive, juniper etc.

Pakistan market is also very diverse and you can find just about everything while shopping. There are modern items as well as traditional objects to purchase. You can find things for yourself as well as excellent gifts (cultural items, souvenirs etc) to present when you return back to your place, at an extremely affordable price.
