College is a great time in a person's life. It's the next step to finding the job that you have always wanted. It takes time, money, and dedication, but when it's all said and done, you will be well on your way. The first thing you have to do is apply to get in. This might not always be the easiest thing to do. So, what are the things that they might be looking for when they select those individuals to send congratulations on your acceptance letter? There are quite a few things. The first thing that they look for are grades. This is how well you did in high school as you will have to send a copy of your transcripts in many cases. They also want to know that you did well on your SATs. Yet, it goes beyond this as to what they look for when choosing people that fit for their college. In some cases, you might find that you have to have reference letters. They want to know what other people think about you. They don't just want to hear from you because everyone thinks that they are the right fit. They want to hear from other people the things they admire about you and the strengths that you have. Then, there is the issue that they want to know if you stayed to yourself or if you helped others. It might be that you play sports and can therefore help one of their teams. It might be that you helped the community and are therefore dedicated to give back to others as you will after all be representing the college that accepts you and that you will be going to school for. They want to see what honors you have. Did you belong to any clubs? Those who put to good use the things they are good at are said to be better in academics and such. So, do you support those things that you find to be good at or have strong opinions about? This says a lot about your character. Something else that says a lot about your character and your way of thinking are the essays that they have you do. You might find that they are annoying, but when you do these, you tell them a lot more about yourself than you might even realize. You tell them what you believe in, you give them a sense of your passions and your weaknesses in a sense. These are all things that they look at. They want to know that you are a fit for them and for their program. They want to know that you will add something to their school and not give it a bad name. These are all the things and more that they will look at. Christian schools might look at the level of how well you demonstrate your faith.
