There are some who believe in God and the whole church thing and they wonder why those who don't believe choose not to do so. Well, we were wondering the same thing and therefore did a little digging with this. So, what did we find out? Here are a few things. The first thing that we have found out is that many of them have been burned. There are a number of people who were once involved with a church and religion and the whole shebang, but then were either told something that they thought was offensive or something was done that they found offensive. Many have been in the middle of a splitting church. Rather than choose sides or deal with the drama, they just gave up. Another thing that some have mentioned is that they get sick of the double standard. They know what the Christians tell them as to how they are supposed to act. The thing is, they don't see the Christians doing it themselves. Why should they then go to church and be around these people if they aren't going to practice what they preach? Others just say they don't have the time. They say that since they really don't believe, why should they waste their time? Many have told us that Christians give up too much of their time as it is. They overwork themselves for the church. Another thing that you will find as a reason as to why those who don't believe choose not to believe is because they might have been forced. Those who were raised in Christian homes and weren't allowed to form their own thoughts on God and what not make up the mast majority of those who don't believe. One of the last things we have found was that some of them just got discouraged because they couldn't' find a church. There are many out there who have changed churches or attempted to find another one after they moved. However, they just couldn't find one they liked.At the same time, many are wondering what their beliefs are if they have any at all. There are more reasons than you think. Some have given up on church because they are mad at God. They might have lost someone that they cared deeply about. When they lost this especially if the person died at a young age, they might be left blaming God. You would be surprised at how many are out there who blame Him for the things that did or didn't happen right in their past. While these are just some of the things that you can find, these aren't the only reasons. There are some that you might say borders the stupid side. There are some who really don't have a reason at all. They just think the religion is dumb. They might even think that some things don't add up. When you look at these though as a Christian, you might then get a better understanding as to what you should be doing to help those who don't believe.
