What can we do to Save the Internet?BY: TDH Graham | Category: Others | Submitted: 2012-01-06 21:27:55
I think that the government needs to purify the internet. It is going down a slippery slope that ends in rampant illegal activity, it already is actually. Music is illegally offered, books, games, other materials, not to mention inappropriate videos and images. These are floating around, though all are technically illegal, yet none are really regulated. The only people who ever gets punished for the illegal material put out is the consumers. People who illegally download music get punished. Why shouldn't the people supplying the illegal products be the ones to face discipline? I know that it is exceedingly difficult to punish anyone who posts things anonymously, but they should at least have their illegal sites removed. They are so blatant! If you search on any search engine for "torrent" (Which I don't suggest you do, I sure don't) then you get a ton of illegal material. Websites that offer illegal books, music, etc. There are some who declare that the copyright laws are not right in the U.S., and that they should be more lenient. Be that as it may, this is currently still illegal material being sold or offered for free, and these websites should be removed. If there is nowhere for the consumers to get these illegal materials, then they won't be able to. The worst part is that these are so blatant, even things like "torrent.com" or something like that, how can the government not get rid of these illegal sites? Not to mention all of the inappropriate sites. God knows what you would get if you searched for sex! People could say that you won't find these things unless you are looking for them. Well, if someone is looking for a game to download, legally, how can they not accidentally locate the illegal things? Same with music, looking to download a song, links come up to download the song from illegal sites. Someone looking at pictures of women, how can they possibly avoid getting a picture that goes a little farther than they wanted? People could also say that such material could never be fully eradicated from the internet. I know it could never be. But please, PLEASE! Just get rid of these painfully blatant things! It makes browsing the internet well nigh impossible. And it puts people in risk of getting in trouble. If there are a few entries of illegal things left eventually, then they would still have to hide, and not come up high on the search engine's lists. Please get rid of all the blatant illegal activity on the internet. Someone? Anyone? I'd vote you for president, whoever you are who would do that?
