Wireless networking has revolutionised the way we exchange information and data. This kind of a network is very different from the conventional wired networks which can be tapped or intercepted easily and is far less efficient. There are many categories of wireless networks such as LAN, WLAN and PAN based on their usage. This technology can save you a lot of money which you would otherwise have to invest in wires and cables especially for connecting a number of computers in a large building. Wireless network is particularly beneficial for those entrepreneurial endeavors that need wireless connectivity for a limited period of time like event management companies.

The most widely used wireless networking is LAN which allows multiple users to connect to a wireless network. As compared to wired networks, wireless LAN networks are easy to install and get you much needed respite from those messy wires that are indispensable part of a wired LAN system. You can carry your computer or laptop everywhere you go within a specific area without being bothered about tangling the wires as there are none attached. WLAN wireless networking comes with many advantages that you can never have with wired networks and are based on the Infrastructure W-LAN and Ad hoc WLAN.

The biggest example of wireless networking is Third Generation Technology, which is basically a broadband facility on your mobile phone. This technology helps users to get connected through mobile phones and transmit huge quantities of data quickly and efficiently without using any wires. Very easy to install, Personal Area Networks or PAN is commonly used in offices where limited wireless connectivity is required. But as WLAN can be intercepted or breached easily it's pertinent to have a password which should be changed frequently.
