The Macmillan Dictionary defines a rumour-monger as someone who spread rumours; in which the emphasis is on the fact the person has no verification or facts of the information she/he is sharing in the public domain. Spreading applaud the character of this person as one who will share the information with anybody who will show interest to hear, be it a villager or a visitor.
